  Pour ses illustrations AÔDÔDenzen s’est inspiré de gravures figurant dans plusieurs ouvrages d’anatomie, dont six ont été identifiés. Il s’agit de :

1- Stephan BLANKAART

De nieuw hervormde Anatomie, ofte ontleding des menschen lichaams. Gebouwd op de Waaragtigste en naaukeurigste ondervindingen deser Eeuw. Zijnde met een groot getal kunstige Platen verçiert. Als ook een Verhandelinge van het Balsemen der Lichamen. Noit voor desen dusdanig bekent gemaakt. Door Steph. BLANKAART, Ph. en Med. Doctor, praktizerende tot Amsterdam. t’Amsterdam, By Jan ten Hoorn, Boekverkooper, over’t Oude Heeren Logement, 1686.

2- Jan PALFYN

Heelkonstige onleeding van’s menschen lighaam ; waar in klaar en onderscheydentlijk worden beschreven de zelfstandigheyd, plaats, groote, gedaante, getal, maaksel, t’samenhang, en gebruyk der deelen, benevenshun ziekten ; met noodige anmerkingen omtrent derzelvergenezing. 7 p. l., 563 pp., 12l., 40 pl.  120. te Leyden, J. vander Deyster, 1718. Publié en français sous le titre de Anatomie chirurgicale, ou Description exacte des parties du corps humain, avec des remarques utiles aux chirurgiens dans la pratique de leur art. Enrichie de figures en taille-douces. (Leyden, 1710; Leipzig, 1717), du même Jean PALFYN.

3- Philip VERHEYEN

Corporis humani anatomia, in qua omnia tam veterum, quam recentiorum anatomicorum inventa methodo novâ & intellectu facillimâ describuntur, ac tabulis æneis repræsentantur, autore Philippo Verheyen, in universitate Lovaniensi anatomiæ professore Regio. Lipsiæ, Apud Thomam Fritsch. MDCXCIX. Cum privilegio. Cet ouvrage connaîtra 21 éditions jusqu’en 1739 et restera une référence jusqu’au milieu du 18^e siècle.

4- Johann Adam KULMUS

Anatomische Tabellen, nebst dazu gehörigen Anmerckungen und Kupffern, daraus des gantzen menschlichen Körpers Beschaffenheit und Nutzen deutlich zu ersehen, welche den Anfängern der Anatomie zu bequemer Anleitung in dieser andern Aufflage verfasset hat Johann Adam Kulmus … Dantzig zu finden bey Cornelius von Beughem ; gedruckt von Thomas Johann Schreiber… 1725. La traduction hollandaise par Gerardus DICTEN, chirurgien de Leyde, Ontleedkundige tafelen, benevens de daar toe behoorende afbeeldingen en aanmerkingen, waar in het zaamensteldes menschelyken lichaams, en het gebruik van alle des zelfs deelen afgebeeld en geleerd word door Johan Adam Kulmus ; in het neederduitsch gebragt door Gerardus Dicten, Amsterdam, 1734, sera, on le sait, à l’origine de la publication du célèbre Kaitaishinsho『解体新書』(1764) de SUGITA Genpaku 杉田玄白, MAENO Ryôtaku 前野良沢 et leur équipe.

5- John BROWNE

Myographia Nova, or a graphical description of all the Muscles in the Human Body ; with one and forty copper-plates. Ce traité des muscles consiste en six lectures, illustrées de gravures sur cuivre, mais c’est en fait un plagiat d’un texte emprunté au Myskotomia, or the Anatomical Administration of All the Muscles in the Humane Body (London, 1648) de William MOLINS avec des illustrations tirées du Tabulæ anatomicæ LXXIIXX. Omnes novæ nec ante hac visæ. Daniel Bucretius XX. quæ deerant supplevit & omnium explicationes addidit. Frankfurt, Matthæi Meriani, 1632, de Giulio CASSERIUS. Cependant, l’ouvrage fut populaire et connut dix éditions entre 1681 et 1705. (London, 1684 ; 2^e éd. Lugd. Batavorum, 1687 ; 3^e éd. London, 1697; 4^e éd. London, 1698, etc.). L’édition latine porte le titre de Myographia nova sive musculorum omnium (in corpore humano hactenus repertorum) accuratissima descriptio, in sex prælectiones distributa: nomina singulorum in suo quæque loco, situque naturali, in æneis musculorum iconibus exarantur : eorum item origines, insertiones, & usus, graphice describuntur, additis insuper ipsius authoris, & aliorum nuperrimis observationibus & inventis. Londini, [London], Johannes Redmayne, 1684.

6- Govard BIDLOO

Godefridi BIDLOO, Madicinæ Doctoris & Chirurgi, Anatomia Hvmani Corporis, Centum & quinque Tabulis, Per artificiosiss. G. de Lairesse ad vivum delineatis, Demonstrata, Veterum Recentiorumque Inventis explicata plurimisque, hactenus non detectis, Illvstrata. Amstelodami. Sumptibus Vilux Joannis à Someren, Haredum Joannis à Dyk, Henrici & Vidux Theodori Boom. MDCLXXXV. Publié en 1685, cet atlas anatomique fut traduit en hollandais en 1690 sous le titre de Ontleding des Menschelyken Lichaams, Gedaan en beschreeven door Govard Bidloo, Geneesher en Hoogvoorleezer in de Ontleding- en Heelkunst binnen's-Graavenhaage ; Uitgebeeld, naar het leeven, in Honderd en vyf Aftekenningen, Door de Heer Gerard de Lairesse. Tot Amsterdam, By de Weduwe van Joannes van Someren, de Erfgenaamen van Joannes van Dyk, Hendrik en de Weduwe van Dirk Boom. Autres éditions hollandaises : Utrecht, 1728 et 1734.

  Mais pour ce dernier, un doute subsiste ; il pourrait s’agir d’un ouvrage de W. COWPER, qui reproduisit les illustrations de BIDLOO sous son propre nom et avec ses commentaires (ceux de BIDLOO lui paraissant incomplets) . Ce serait alors :
